GE FAULT CODES
GE Range / Stove / Oven Fault Codes |
||
Failure Code |
Fault Code Description |
Solution |
F0 |
Stuck touch pad |
Usually means that either the touch pad or the oven control (also called clock or ERC) is defective and needs to be replaced. If this fault code cannot be cancelled, replace the oven control (also called clock or ERC), touch pad, or both. |
F1 |
Stuck touch pad |
Usually means that either the touch pad or the oven control (also called clock or ERC) is defective and needs to be replaced. If this fault code cannot be cancelled, replace the oven control (also called clock or ERC), touch pad, or both. |
F2 |
Control senses oven temperature above 615F-630F |
If actual over temperature condition occurred: Look for welded relay contacts on bake or broil relays. If this happens, replace oven control (also called clock or ERC). |
F2 |
Control senses oven temperature above 915F-930F |
If actual over temperature condition occurred: Look for welded relay contacts. If this happens, replace oven control (also called clock or ERC). |
F3 |
Open or shorted oven temperature sensor (RTD) |
Check sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control. Replace oven temperature sensor (RTD) if wiring is ok. |
F5 |
Loss of relay drive circuit |
If this fault code cannot be cancelled, replace the oven control (also called clock or ERC). |
F8 |
Shorted meat probe |
Problem could be with the probe, the receptacle, or probe circuit. Check probe. Look for pinched wire. Look for condensation or contamination on probe receptacle. |
F9 |
Lock switch |
Check wiring to door lock switch (the wire harness may be connected wrong). Check for stuck lock switch. |
FC |
Problem with door lock circuit such as pinched wires between control and door lock switches on motorized lock circuits |
Check wiring and test operation of switches. |
FD |
Shorted meat probe |
Problem could be with the probe, the receptacle, or probe circuit. Check probe. Look for pinched wire. Look for condensation or contamination on probe receptacle. Replace probe if all else checks out ok. |
FF |
Loss of door motor safety switch |
Replace the oven control (also called clock or ERC). |
FFF |
Control error, failed EEPROM |
Replace the oven control board (also called clock or ERC). |

GE FAULT CODES
GE Microwave Fault Codes |
||
Failure Code |
Fault Code Description |
Solution |
F1 |
Oven cavity thermistor open |
Check oven thermistor for continuity. Replace if zero or infinite ohms. |
F2 |
Oven cavity thermistor closed |
Check oven thermistor for continuity. Replace if zero or infinite ohms. |
F3 |
Key panel (touch pad) shorted |
This code will occur if a shorted key panel is detected continuously over 60 seconds. Replace key panel (also called touch pad). |
F4 |
Humidity sensor open or shorted |
Replace humidity sensor. |
F6 |
Shorted temperature probe |
This code will occur if temp. probe is detected as shorted continuously over 5 seconds. Replace temperature probe. |
